Dream - An African Einstien

Today, I saw videos on China, Brilliant Mind, Charles Darwin's, etc. I learnt things and information from it. One of the videos in that list was of Prof. Neil Turok's 2008 TED Prize speech.

I have seen this video before and I was impressed with the professor's dream and plan. I thought, I will share this video with everyone through this blog. In this talk prof. Neil Turok talks about his university in Africa called African Institute of Mathematical Science (AIMS) and about Big Bang - what banged?

Prof. Neil Turok recieved the TED prize wish money on behalf AIMS. He said that they have two parts in the TED wish i.e., a Dream and Plan. The Dream - The Next Einstein will be an African and the plan is to open AIMS all over Africa.

The main thing to note here in this dream and plan is, 'how well they are cohesive'. The implementation of this plan can/will lead to the dream one day or other.

History of Maths

After coming to Melbourne, I started seeing videos(documentary, talks, etc) and added learning through videos as a learning tool in my artillery. I wanted to share my video-learning with others. So, started to share the video links through my orkut network. Later, I started to do the same through facebook too. But, after uploading 250 videos I couldn't add more videos links in orkut. So, I think sharing my links through my blog will be the best way to go for it.

I wanted to start this by adding a documentary series on history on maths. Maths has been my favorite subject from my schooling to college.

The documentary is called as "The Story of Maths". It consist of 4 episode
  1. How Maths started to flourish in Egypt, Mespotmia and Roman empire
  2. Story of maths in east
  3. Maths development in science
  4. Frontiers of Science in 20th century
It is a nice documentary to start with.

I am adding the link from youtube. I have to acknowledge the person who uploaded this link in youtube and also BBC for making nice documentaries like this.
